  • I Am Very Please With This Mini Split System

I purchased this mini split to go in my mother's first floor of her townhouse. I calculated the amount of square footage we would be cooling and looked up online which size of air conditioner would be recommended for her situation. The recommended size was 12,000 BTUs. I ordered the 110v model (instead of the 220v) as that voltage is easier to work with and would work out to be slightly more efficient on the electric bill each month. This was the first mini split I ever installed. I was able to watch a few videos online showing installation of mini splits and the process was very clear. I took my time and installed the entire thing in about 7 hours. The only additional parts I needed was screws to mount the inside unit to the wall, a bracket for the outdoor unit to sit on (see pics), a power disconnect box for outside (as required by national code), power wire to run from the disconnect box over to the house circuit breaker panel, a line set cover for the lines running to the outdoor unit, and a new circuit breaker so the unit could be on it's own circuit breaker. All of these additional parts cost me around $130. I followed the included instructions on how to install it (after watching the videos online). I feel that anyone who can do automotive repair competently and has general experience working with home electrics can install this with ease. When we first powered the system on, we were pleasantly surprised at how quickly it began to cool and how remarkably quiet both inside and outside units are. It's crazy how well it works compared to a window air conditioner and yet it costs very little more. The unit has been installed and running for a week now and I am very please with the purchase. My mother has no problem understanding how to operate it and the unit draws very little power so I do not expect a substantial change to her electric bill.

  • 1-Ton 20SEER 115V Split System

Purchased 2 Sets. All video instructions for typical split systems on youtube show to disconnect the low pressure line at the very end. Please don't do that, some pressurized freon would shoot out through the valve. Follow the video instructions posted here and everything should be good. All cycles work effectively. The noise level is incredibly low. They seem to be very decent systems and time will justify the true quality. Note that, vents should swing in both horizontally and vertically. If yours only do up and down, check the panel and wire arm inside.
