18 Inch 1500W Electric Fireplace Freestanding and Recessed Heater

My husband got me this for Christmas. He got it put together pretty quickly. It’s is so beautiful and I’ve gotten compliments on the unit. It help heat our living room, as our house is poorly insulated. I love it! Nothing bad to say about it at all.

I needed a tv stand with a fireplace that had a smaller footprint than most for my office on the mornings when I needed some warmth for my office. The stand itself was pretty simple to put together. I did it myself in about an hour. It's pretty solid and I don't foresee any issues with it. As for the fireplace, I live in Florida so I won't use it for probably 8 months or so out of the year but at present it's November and I have used it a few times already. It does give off alot of heat. It allows you 5 different flame options, a timer for those times when you only want it on for an hour or a few, or you can use it for the flame effect only. You can change the temp but it only changes the temp by 5 degrees each time, not one degree at a time like others I've seen, but that isn't a big deal to me. The temperature itself only goes up and down so far as well. It heats up my 11 x 13 office pretty quickly. So far it works great.

built this stand and mounted the electric fireplace; very pleased so far. it's cheezy looking but the price isn't bad at all. been using for a couple weeks so far (mostly just lights, occasional low heat), just hope it lasts! PROS: this little unit puts out great heat. very easy to install. like that the remote includes all functions (heat, light, timer, temp control, light brightness). the lights are very pretty, especially after it gets dark. appreciate that it takes little power on the low setting, no worries about tripping the outlet. really like that it has a thermostat. CONS: wish the remote had labels for the buttons. wish the remote was bigger, it's really tiny. i built the cabinet not knowing there was a flange on either side of the unit, the measurements should include the flange. the flange is flush with the front of the unit - should have been recessed a bit to allow for some molding to cover it. the cord is a little on the short side, barely reaches the outlet. description should list which side the cord is on. nowhere could i find how much airflow the unit required. after reading a bit about electric inserts, i'll need to remove the cabinet back, cut a hole and install a vent to allow for airflow. annoying... a little awkward to set the timer. it starts at 30 minutes, and each button press will take up all the way up to 9 hours. you can't go backwards; if you miss the time you want, you have to start over at 30 minutes. overall, i'm pleased with the install. puts out really good heat, the lights are pretty, the remote works fine, timer function and thermostat works nicely, and the price is right.
