It definitely took some effort to put together, but wasn't as terrible as implied by some others. The worst part about the instructions is that it's not always very clear about the board orientation. Still, if a schmuck like me can do it by themselves, I bet most others could as well. Just make sure you have a fair bit of space for assembly and a decent phillips screwdriver.The package I received was missing an item (the coverings to disguise some of the screw holes) and when I submitted a request to have new ones sent, the request was acknowledged and fulfilled promptly.A great purchase.
